					<description>Just an FYI. Mardi Gras was first celebrated in LOUISIANA in 1699 when the LeMoyne brothers came down the river and founded the territory for France. The Mardi Gras celebrations that we know of today, with krewe organizations and parades, began in Mobile and was brought to New Orleans in the mid-1800s.</description>
